Karen Climer’s Crazy Balloon Show

Balloon Story

<>Have you had performers come to your library that make your young readers says, "boooorrrrrr-ing"? What about performers that are using your library to fill their summer schedule, but they would rather be performing for adults? Do you have entertainers that talk about the merits of reading, but it doesn’t come across because they themselves don’t like reading? Or entertainers who perform the same tired show each year because they are too lazy to create a new show?

If you are looking for someone who loves reading and knows how to share that excitement with children, you need Karen Climer’s Crazy Balloon Show at your library.

On your mark, get set ... I am developing an all-new 45-minute stage show for 2016 featuring the joy of reading and side-splitting laughter. Karen Climer’s Crazy Balloon Show includes storytelling, magic, comedy, ventriloquism, and the biggest, most amazing balloon sculptures you’ve ever seen. My infectious enthusiasm creates energetic shows that encourage laughter, audience participation, and most importantly, reading.

Six Powerful Reasons To Book Karen Climer’s Crazy Balloon Showarticle

  1. Interactive Fun- Sports are about participation, and so is my show. The show is interactive with multiple opportunities for children to participate on stage.
  2. Balloons Make Great Photos – The media consistently send photographers to my balloon shows creating great exposure for your library.
  3. Real Books – As an added bonus, I use real books that children know and recognize. These books are brought to life during this 45-minute presentation. You will have books flying off your shelves and see an instant increase in circulation numbers.
  4. Belly-Laughing Fun – Your young readers will be belly-laughing and rolling on the floor. Laughter is a sure-fire way to get the kids in your community interested in books. A ton of side-splitting and age-appropriate humor will keep the audience laughing and having a great time from start to finish.
  5. Hassle-Free Show – My show is entirely self-contained. I bring my own sound system, tables, and everything I need for the show.  You only have to provide the audience. This gives you more time focus on managing the children’s department and helping young patrons use the library.
  6. Proven Track Record So You Can Feel Confident – My years of performing experience means you get a professional-caliber show, which in turn means young readers will associate the library with fun. Every entertainer claims to be good, so how do you really know. The best way to know is based on what other people say. Here are a few comments from parents and librarians that I’ve received from my programs:

Karen’s Caring School Show

balancing balloonsBullying is becoming more prevalent in our schools. The US Department of Justice suggests many things to reduce bullying in schools. One of these is a whole school approach in elementary schools. What better way to involve the whole school than with an assembly or in-school field trip...

Karen's Caring School Show is a 45-minute presentation geared toward kids in grades VPK-5. Magic, ventriloquism, balloons, and comedy are all combined  in a fast-paced and fun show. My goal with Karen's Caring School Show is to create positive messages and to promote respect for others. Karen's Caring School Show teaches children that they have the power to make a difference at their school and in their community.

Why magic and balloons? Nothing captures attention more than magic and everybody loves balloons. My tricks are an important part of the program. But this is not magic for entertainment’s sake. My show emphasizes the power of friendship, teamwork, and respect.

The assembly program incorporates student and teacher volunteers. The students love to help and love to see their classmates and teachers on stage. This keeps their attention to ensure the message sinks in.

As with all of my shows, Karen's Caring School Show includes me climbing into the world’s largest balloon. As with everything in the show, this includes an anti-bullying message.

"Karen puts on a wonderful show. She captivates the audience, and brings the children up front to work with her. She has a very unique style of media presentation using balloons as props for her stories ... She can adapt her methods to deliver any kind of message."
- Janet Lewis, Youth Librarian, Umatilla Public Library
